Amanda- You’re right in that opinions can be so fickle. Swayable at best. And it’s absolutely our responsibility to make wise decisions that guide the changes. Such a great reminder!
I listened to this on a road trip and had literally just gone through a McDonald’s drive through and was eating it while listening 🤣🤣🤣 It gave me a lot to think about when you talked about assigning morality to certain things. I give myself permission to get fast food on long road trips, but never any other time. Truly fascinating the beliefs and just that are ingrained in us.
Lol.. no hate to Mickey D's. It is what it is! Isn't it interesting though. A lifetime of 'fighting' with myself over food, I've discovered the only true path to peace, for me, is through acceptance.
And ironically, once I 'let it' be ok & let it be a matter of autonomy instead of morality - the strangle hold that my 'fuck it' eating had over me began to diminish.
Like I said, it's still a work in progress and choosing to remove shame from the picture has been a much harder journey than I would like, but... it's working for me :)
